This semester in art we will learn the Elements of Art-Line, Shape. Form, Color, and Texture.

Here are some art activities you can do at home. |
1. Students will create a drawing using horizontal, vertical, diagonal, curved, wavy, zigzag, and broken lines. Add color. 2.Students will be able to look at a famous artwork and identify different kinds of lines. 3. Students will create a picture of their neighborhood using both geometric and free form shapes. 4. Students will be able to look at an artwork and find the use of texture. 5. Students will draw a picture of six birds sitting on a branch. Add details to picture. Color in birds in rainbow order. 6.Gather together 6 teacups, a spoon or eye dropper, food coloring (red, yellow and blue). Fill 3 cups with water. In each cup add 2-3 drops of food coloring in each cup creating one red, one yellow and one blue. In an empty cup mix two spoons full of red and yellow water. What color did you make? In an empty cup mix two spoonfuls of yellow and blue water. What color did you make? In the third cup mix 2 spoons of red and blue water. What color did you make? 6. Largely draw the first letter of your name. Draw an animal using the letter of your name and color the picture. 7. Draw an ice cream sundae. Draw sprinkles and other delicious add ons to your sundae. Add color. 8. Draw yourself as a super hero. Draw your super powers and color your picture. 9. Fill your paper with about 5 or 6 circles that are different sizes. Fill each circle with a different pattern. Color the picture with just warm colors or just cool colors. 10. Check out the live animal cams at the San Diego zoo. Choose a different animal to watch. Draw that animal and his friends. Be sure to include details of where that animal lives. Add color. zoo.sandiegozoo.org |
